Institute Vision/Mission:
In 1997, the College of the North Atlantic was formed through amalgamating 17 district vocational schools which had peppered the Newfoundland & Labrador region since 1963.
With the intention of developing highly skilled, enthusiastic and talented employees for an evolving professional landscape, CNA educates and retrains individuals in a spectrum of careers ranging from commercial painting, to executive office administration, to programming analysis -- thus forming a foundation and providing a locus of hope and dignity for a resilient and hard-working region of the country.
Built in keeping with the traditions of the Garden City movement of the late 19th Century, Grand Falls is home to the Salmonid Interpretation Centre -- largest of its kind in North America -- and attracts anglers from around the world. The surrounding wildlands are also rich in wildlife.
The 'Exploits Valley Salmon Festival' is an exciting annual event which has seen performers like Nelly Furtado, Bryan Adams and Alexis-on-Fire.
